The Great South West Walks – loving the South West Coast Path!

This walk incorporates the South West Coast Path, ancient county track-way through woodland and is inclusive of the ancient heart of a once Saxon village, Churston Ferrers, complete with its Manor House and village church. Maybe have a stop at Churston Cove – a wonderful variety of stunning views, backcloth to notable highlights within English history.

Every pace provides a fresh outlook of the natural beauty and sumptuous heritage of this miniscule piece of the South Devon jigsaw. There really is an immense diversity of experiences within a very short distance. Be prepared though -? the route does include short sections of exertion over relatively rough terrain!

The walk is suitable for any individual inspired by the wide spectrum of a maritime & rural environment. Ideal for any family who seeks variety of landscape and a taste of exploration.

Please meet in the Churston Court Hotel from 10.30 – they are providing free tea or coffee before the walk, which starts at 11.00.  You can leave your car there free of charge too.   When the walk finishes, maybe you would like to go in for a filling Sunday lunch?

This is a fundraising event organised by the South West Coast Path. 

The Great South West Walks 2014 is a celebration of the South West Coast Path taking place from 20th – 28th September 2014, with 100 popular circular walks focused around the Coast Path in Somerset, Dorset, Devon and Cornwall.  Its aim is to raise vital funds through the sponsored walks which will to be used for improvements to the Coast Path and to provide hospice care to children and their families in the south west through Children’s Hospice South West.

Children can join the walks for free, but please make sure you add them into the cart and enter their names onto the registration form when you complete it. You may want to amend the donation box.

Grade: Moderate

Time:  11:00am (free tea or coffee will be provided by the hotel before the walk from 10:30)

Cost:  A minimum donation of £7.50 per adult, children free
