Berry Head Bat Walks
25 May 2018
Berry Head National Nature Reserve
A unique opportunity to see the rare Greater Horseshoe bats at Berry Head, a Geopark Gateway Site. The Greater Horseshoe bats live in the caves formed in the 400 million year old limestone cliffs. We will begin at the Visitor Centre, to see the bats in their roost using the cave camera. We then head out onto the reserve to see how our cows help to feed the bats, before moving on to watch the spectacle of the bats emerging from their roost, using bat detectors to hear their calls.
Time: 8pm - 9.45pm (Approx 15min walk from car park to end of headland)
Parking available at the main Berry Head Car Park, pay by phone or coin. Please wear stout footwear and suitable clothing for the evening
