Berry Head Bat Walk
24 May
Berry Head
A unique opportunity to see the rare greater horseshoe bats at Berry Head, a Geopark Gateway Site.
The greater horseshoe bats live in the caves formed in the 400 million year old limestone cliffs. We will begin at the Artillery Store at the end of the headland, where a short talk will be given about the greater horseshoe bat.
We then head out onto the reserve to see how our cows help to feed the bats, before moving on to watch the spectacle of the bats emerging from their roost, using bat detectors to hear their calls. Meeting point - The Artillery Store (End of headland) Time - 8pm - 10pm Cost - £5 Suitable for adults and children over 13, all children must be accompanied by a paying adult.
