The English Riviera Geopark (Torbay)
25th May 2010 - 31st May 2010 (7 days) GeoQuest is a week of walking, exploring, mapping and performing in the English Riviera Global Geopark, to celebrate our landscape, history and community - a performance walk from the Valley of the Rocks at Watcombe, Torquay to Berry Head in Brixham. The GeoQuest will be an incredible event and experience - to purchase tickets for one of the 7 evening performances along the route click the website link which will take you to the Dartington Arts website where you can purchase tickets online or over the phone. Tickets are limited so BOOK EARLY ....included in the price of the ticket is a shared meal of locally sourced food and a short talk as well as the preformance - which will evolve over the week so why not book for two nights! Prior to each evening there will be a FREE short walk that anyone can attend - if you can't come along and you are out and about in the Bay then keep your eyes peeled for our three conquestidors as they unravel and explore our stunning landscape and heritage....... Three Guides or ‘Questors', musician/composer Hugh Nankivell, writer Phil Smith and performer Tony Lidington, will walk Torbay by day researching, creating, finding and telling new ideas, stories and songs about the land and the communities they pass, plus inventing a new geocultural map.

In a series of evening events along the way the artists invite you to join them to help bring to life the great transformations that have shaped our landscape and our lives. Each GeoQuest evening starts with a FREE short exploratory walk, followed by a ticketed 8pm performance, a talk from a Geopark expert and a simple shared meal (included in the ticket price).
