Geopark Festival 2012 - Coastal Capers and Aquatic Adventures - Wild Swimming through the English Riviera Geopark

10 Jun

St Anne's Hall, Babbacombe

Prepare to get wet and go wild, as Sophie Pierce (BBC Radio Devon) and Matt Newbury lead you on a geological journey through the waters of South Devon's beautiful bay, taking in coasts, caves, cliffs and coves. The talk will provide a fascinating  insight into the popular pastime of wild swimming, as well as an illustrated guide to six swims that will allow you to enjoy the English Riviera Geopark from a completely different perspective.

Why not take a dip after the talk followed by a chance to socialise in the cafe? The cafe is fully licensed and food and snacks will also be available. The last Cliff Railway leaves at 6pm. Please note the swim is entirely at your own risk and not part of the organised event.

Meet: St Annes Hall, Babbacombe
Time: 4pm for the talk, followed by a return trip down the Cliff Railway for refreshments in the cafe and an optional swim
Cost: £6.
Booking: Essential on 0844 474 22 33 or at Torquay Tourist Information Office
