Sharing our Heritage

Being a UNESCO Geopark means sharing knowledge with others. Education plays a key role in our aim to protect and preserve this unique region through encouraging local communities and visitors to learn why it’s so special.

Education for Sustainable Development

Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) helps people gain the knowledge, skills and confidence to make informed decisions that support both people and the planet, now and in the future. In the English Riviera UNESCO Global Geopark, this means using our unique landscape, wildlife, geology and heritage to help all ages understand how the world is connected, encouraging them to learn, think critically, work together and take positive action for a more sustainable future.

This section offers resources for learning at all levels, and advises on how to access learning embedded in the Geopark with our partners. Whether you’re rocking up with our resources or learning with our partners, the Geopark is a great place to learn.
