 The English Riviera UNESCO Global Geopark (ERUGGp), the Geopark, is one of Earth’s extraordinary places, covering the whole of the unitary authority of Torbay. The Geopark, incorporating the three towns of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham, celebrates, conserves, enhances, and protects the unique and diverse natural and cultural heritage of this naturally inspiring area of South Devon.  

About the Commission: Fund Raising 

The successful consultant will have extensive experience in fund raising in organisations serving a public benefit remit over natural and environmental heritage. 

The brief focuses on the future sustainability of the roles and functions created by the project. The brief requires working closely with the Project Manager, the team and other partners, to deliver bids and develop thinking around how to attract funding for the ongoing activities of two key roles developed in the project, the Education & Interpretation Coordinator and the Volunteering & Skills Coordinator.

About the Commission: Volunteer & Community Partner Toolkit

 

The commission is to develop and pilot a Geopark Confident Volunteer and Community Partner Toolkit, designed to support volunteer-involving organisations and community groups to build confidence, knowledge, and engagement with the stories, landscapes, and values of the Geopark.

 

The commissioning consultant will work closely with the Geopark Coordinator and relevant partners to consolidate existing training materials into a coherent, accessible, and practical “Geopark Confident” introductory package. This will form a key resource to support consistent and engaging storytelling about the Geopark across partner organisations. 

The toolkit will include a combination of: 

  • Downloadable training and induction resources for volunteers and community partners

  • Practical guidance materials for organisers and volunteer coordinators

  • Optional supporting assets or templates to aid delivery and local adaptation 

The toolkit will be designed to be bitesize, accessible, and easy to use, supporting organisations with varying levels of prior knowledge.
